DEQ NOTICE OF TIER II PERMIT APPLICATION FILING

A Tier II application for a modified operating permit has been filed with the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ) by Terra Nitrogen, LP-Verdigris Plant, 6606 East 540 Road, Claremore, OK 74019

The applicant requests approval to modify the existing No. 1 Nitric Acid Plant at the Terra Nitrogen, LP-Verdigris Plant, which is located in Claremore, Oklahoma in Section 9, Township 20 N, Range 15 E, Rogers County, Oklahoma.  The facility is a nitric acid, ammonia, and urea ammonium nitrate (UAN) production facility.

The application may be reviewed at the Verdigris Fire Department, located at 25707 South Highway 66 in Claremore, OK, or at the Air Quality Division’s main office (see address below).  The status of all permit applications is also available for review in the Air Quality Section of the ODEQ’s Web Page: www.deq.state.ok.us.

After reviewing the application, the ODEQ will prepare either a draft permit or a draft denial.  At that time another notice will be published about where to review the draft, how to submit written comments on the draft and request a public meeting.
