PUBLISHED IN THE CLAREMORE DAILY PROGRESS, CLAREMORE, OKLAHOMA, OCTOBER 23 & 30, 2013. 

PROCLAMATION AND NOTICE OF ELECTION

Under and by virtue of Section 26, Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution and Title 70, Article XV, Oklahoma Statutes 2011, and other laws supplementary and amendatory thereto and a Resolution of the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 2 of Rogers County, Oklahoma, adopted on the 11th day of September, 2013, an election is hereby called to be held in said School District on the 12th day of November, 2013, for the purpose of submitting to the registered, qualified electors thereof the following propositions:

PROPOSITION NO. 1

Shall Independent School District Number 2 of Rogers County, Oklahoma, incur an indebtedness by issuing its bonds in the sum of Twenty Million Six Hundred Sixty Thousand Dollars ($20,660,000) to be issued in series to provide funds for the purpose of constructing, equipping, repairing and remodeling school buildings, acquiring school furniture, fixtures and equipment and acquiring and improving school sites, and levy and collect an annual tax, in addition to all other taxes, upon all the taxable property in such District sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof when due, said bonds to bear interest not to exceed the rate of ten (10%) percentum per annum, payable semi-annually and to become due serially within five (5) years from their date?

PROPOSITION NO. 2

Shall Independent School District Number 2 of Rogers County, Oklahoma, incur an indebtedness by issuing its bonds in the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) to provide funds for the purpose of purchasing transportation equipment, and levy and collect an annual tax, in addition to all other taxes, upon all the taxable property in such District sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof when due, said bonds to bear interest not to exceed the rate of ten (10%) percentum per annum, payable semi-annually and to become due serially within five (5) years from their date?

The ballots used at said election shall set out the propositions as above set forth and shall also contain, with respect to each proposition, the following words:

The polls shall be opened at seven o’clock A.M. and remain open continuously until and be closed at seven o’clock P.M.

The number and location of the polling places and the names of the persons who shall conduct said election shall be designated by the County Election Board(s). Such officers shall also act as counters.

The specific projects for which at least eighty-five percent (85%) of the proceeds of the aforesaid Bonds shall be expended and the dollar amounts for each project shall be as follows:

PROPOSITION NO. 1

to acquire and install technology equipment 

throughout the district     $2,005,000.00

SERIES II

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements at Helen Paul Learning Center to include, but not be limited to: playground equipment, fencing, concrete, and site 

improvements      $290,000.00

SERIES III

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements at J.W. Sam Elementary School to include, but not be limited to: canopies, site improvements, concrete, metals, steel, roofing, demolition, masonry, millwork, glass and glazing, doors and hardware, drywall and ceilings, flooring, paint, toilet partitions and accessories, HVAC equipment, plumbing, and electrical

      $370,000.00

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements at Cherokee Elementary School to include, but not be limited to: paint and lighting 

       $185,000.00

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements throughout the district to include, but not be limited to:  athletic equipment, band equipment, textbooks, senior panels, and security 

cameras     $650,000.00

 Subtotal: Series III                 $1,205,000.00

 

SERIES IV

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements throughout the district to include, but not be limited to: furniture, HVAC equipment, and maintenance/repairs 

      $2,010,000.00

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements at Twist Center to include, but not be limited to: general requirements, demolition, masonry, insulation, millwork, glass and glazing, sealants and caulking, doors and hardware, drywall and ceilings, flooring, paint, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, signage, and fire

extinguishers and cabinets       $1,250,000.00

 

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire a new 

track       $1,250,000.00

 

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements at the football stadium to include, but not be limited to: turf, concession and restrooms, bleachers, general requirements, masonry, insulation, millwork, glass and glazing, sealants and caulking, doors and hardware, drywall and ceilings, flooring, paint, HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, toilet partitions, signage, and fire extinguishers and cabinets.  

    $2,500,000.00

to acquire and install technology equipment throughout the district

    $2,000,000.00

Subtotal: Series IV                     $9,010,000.00

 

SERIES V

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements throughout the district to include, but not be limited to:   HVAC equipment

    $1,000,000.00

 

SERIES VI

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire a new cafeteria to include, but not be limited to: general requirement, site improvements, concrete footings, sidewalks, slabs, miscellaneous steel, pre-engineered steel, steel erection, masonry/brick, CMU, ICF system, sealants and fire proofing, building insulation, millwork, hollow metal, wood doors, finishes, storm door hardware, glass and glazing, sealants and caulking, flooring, drywall and studs, paint, ceiling suspended, toilet accessories, signage, fire extinguishers and cabinets, plumbing, HVAC equipment, electrical, and kitchen equipment 

    $3,925,000.00

Construct, furnish, equip, and/or acquire a classroom renovation at the Middle School to include, but not be limited to: general requirements, demolition, masonry, insulation, millwork, glass and glazing, sealants and caulking, doors and hardware, drywall and ceilings, flooring, paint, HVAC equipment, plumbing, electrical, signage, and fire extinguishers and cabinets

      $1,225,000.00

to acquire and install technology equipment throughout the district

    $2,000,000.00

PROPOSITION NO.2

 

To purchase student transportation vehicles

    $500,000.00
