Early morning power outages in the Verdigris area were the result of tree limbs falling on a 3-phase power line at the Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative substation south of Claremore.
The first report of an outage came in around 6 a.m. and power was restored to the Verdigris area residents around 9 a.m.
A dispatcher with VVEC confirmed that thunderstorms and accompanying lightning moving through the area had also caused power outages in Keetonville and later in the day in the Skiatook service area.
Some of the damage is being attributed to hanging tree branches leftover from the January ice storm.
The National Weather Service continues to predict scattered thunderstorms and rain throughout northeast Oklahoma through Thursday.
