Park's prosecution moves forward
Despite his attorney’s frequent objections and attempts to quash and dismiss the State of Oklahoma’s case against him, former RSU student Tywone Parks’ District Court arraignment has been set for June 2, 2008 in the Courtroom of Judge J. Dwayne Steidley.
At Parks’ preliminary hearing Thursday, assistant District Attorney Jenny Sanbrano questioned Claremore Police investigators Chuck Goad and John Singer about the events leading to the Feb. 2008 arrest of Parks, including the beheading of a dog, weapons recovered from Parks’ south Claremore apartment, and threatening statements and writings testified to have been made by Parks.
Parks’ attorney, Jackson Zanerhaft, frequently threw into question the constitutionality of the statute with which Parks is being charged, as well as his mental health at the time of his arrest, claiming the Claremore police used “manipulation and subterfuge” at the time of his arrest.
The full story covering Parks preliminary hearing will be in Friday’s noon edition of the Daily Progress and available on the E-Editon online.
