Published June 27, 2008 10:41 am - Sheriff investigators: Overdose may have killed Collinsville man Krystal J. Carman
Rogers County authorities are awaiting test results to determine if a man found dead in Collinsville died from an overdose. Investigator Darrin Hester said his office was called out to a home on 195th E. Avenue around 6:40 a.m. Monday to investigate the death of 27-year-old Thomas Jason Kelly. “Due to his age and that he did not live at the residence where he was found, an investigation was conducted to rule out foul play,” Hester said. “The investigation is ongoing with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office and the Medical Examiner’s office.” Samples from Kelly were taken by the Medical Examiner and sent to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation lab for toxicology tests, which Hester said may not be available for a couple of months. But the investigation has ruled out foul play. “There are things we found in our investigation that point to an accidental overdose,” Hester said. “Of course our findings are pending the toxicology results. Then we will know exactly what he overdosed on.” Hester and investigators questioned several people concerning Kelly’s death and some questioning may still occur.
