OKLAHOMA CITY — Former District 12 District Attorney Gene Haynes has been appointed by Gov. Mary Fallin to the state board that oversees Oklahoma’s prison system.

Fallin announced her appointments to several boards and commissions on Wednesday, including the two spots on the seven-member Board of Corrections.
Haynes, who served in the DA’s office for 26 years, and T. Hastings Siegried of Tulsa will serve a six-year term on the panel.
The former district attorney did not seek re-election in 2010.
He served  Rogers, Mayes and Craig counties. He replaces Matthew McBee on the panel.
Siegfried is the vice chairman and chief operating officer of Tulsa-based aerospace manufacturing company NORDAM.  He replaces former Republican state Sen. Gerald Wright.
