CLAREMORE — The Claremore High School and Will Rogers Junior High Jazz Bands will perform during the sixth annual Jazz Coffeehouse and Dessert Auction at 6:30 p.m. April 12 at the Robson PAC. WRJH Jazz Band will open with the 2012 state champion CHS Jazz Band to follow.

Doors open at 6 p.m., admission is $3 and includes a drink and dessert.

Eric Kennedy, professional auctioneer, has donated his services and will auction off desserts donated by local restaurants and parents. One dollar raffle tickets will be sold for a “Claremore Date Night” package and a Coach purse.

“The students claim that this is their favorite concert performance of the year,” said CHS Band Booster Membership Coordinator Debbie Gunkel. “Normally the students play at competitions, but this is an evening when the band plays for entertainment.”

Gunkel said the jazz band’s love of music and performing for the community can be summed up by a quote from Louis Armstrong, “Jazz is played from the heart. You can live by it. Always love it.”
