County ready to celebrate 4th

Rogers County is a busy place this Independence Day week, with numerous picnics, fireworks displays, church events and more in honor of the occasion.
Fourth of July-related activities scheduled for this week include:
• “Patriotic Hymn Festival and Ice Cream Social,” 7 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 220 Seminole. All welcome. Information: (918) 341-1429.
• Tulsa Praise Orchestra’s “An American Celebration” concert, 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church Claremore. Featured performers will be the FBC orchestra, Celebration Choir, Frontline Singers, Ernestine Dillard and Colleen Thompson. No tickets are needed. Nursery provided for children up to 4 years old. • Tiawah Community Baptist Church will host a 4th of July celebration from 7 p.m. to dark at the church, off Highway 88 between Claremore and Inola. Free food with fireworks to begin at dark. For more information, call (918) 283-1798.
• Hilldale Baptist Church will host its annual Freedom Celebration beginning at 8 p.m. with free food, special music from Angie Cockrell and the New Tulsans and a fireworks display at dark. Lawn chairs are recommended to bring for comfort. For more information, call (918) 341-2687.
• Talala Independence Day Celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Talala. Homemade ice cream. Free to the community. Fireworks show scheduled to start at 9 p.m. 
• Annual “Freedom Fest at Stone Canyon” 7-9 p.m., 76th St. N. and 177th E. Ave. in Owasso. Live music by the Fabulous Mid-Life Crisis Band. Food and beverages available on site for purchase, including shaved ice, hot dogs, and more. Bring lawn chairs for comfort to enjoy the sights and sounds at Stone Canyon Lake.
• St. Andrews United Methodist Church hosts “Summer Celebration” 7-10 p.m. at the church, 9472 Oklahoma SH20, Claremore. Fun, food and fireworks. Bring lawn chairs for comfort and enjoy fellowship and fireworks. More information, call (918) 341-5435.
• ”Red, White and Boom Independance Day Celebration” begins between 8:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., at the Green’s Golf Course in Owasso. 
Fireworks to be launched from Owasso Golf and Athletic Club  behind The Greens Apartments.
• The City of Claremore hosts fireworks and more at Claremore Lake Park throughout the day. 
Kids fishing derby starts at 7 a.m. Evening festivities start at 6 p.m. with live music playing from 6:10 to 9:15 p.m. and the fireworks show begins around 9:30 p.m. Concessions will be available. For more information, call (918) 341-1238.
• Fireworks at Oologah Lake begin at 9:15 p.m., near the dam at Hawthorn Bluff, Overlook Park and Redbud Marina.
