Howell, Thompson named as new ‘Friends’ officers

CLAREMORE —

Jeff Howell of RCB Bank and Kim Thompson of the J.M. Davis Museum, have been elected as officers of the Friends of the J.M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum.
Other officers that were re-elected were; Marie Allen, Linda Eagleton, Don Freed, Larry Larkin, Carlene Webber and Phyllis Wood. Also during the meeting the
Friends voted to finance a remodeling project in the Mason Hotel lobby exhibit and assist with the re opening activities of the Claremore Room on Monday, June 30. 
A presentation on the life of Oklahoma outlaw Henry Starr and his connections to Claremore were presented by local Claremore historian, Larry Larkin. 
One of Starr’s pistols is included in the Davis collection. The Friends of the J.M. Davis Museum meet the third Tuesday
of every month at the Davis Museum in downtown Claremore.
