As Oklahoma forecasters have predicted the approach of an arctic front across the state, residents of Claremore and Rogers County will be watching the skies — and roads — over the next few days in anticipation of snow and sleet accumulations.
With the prospect of cold temperatures and snow or sleed likely, some local schools and groups have already announced the cancellation of classes and/or events.
School/event cancellations known as of press time include:
• The 23rd Annual Polly’s Presbyterian Pantry Holiday Luncheon & Bake Sale.
This event was originally scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Presbyterian Life Center, 5th and Florence in Claremore.
At this time, no plans to reschedule have been announced.
• Liquid Nitro Arenacross at the Claremore Expo Center.
This event was originally scheduled for Dec. 6 and 7 at the Claremore Expo Center. It has been rescheduled for Dec. 13 and 14. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m.
