A Tulsa man was killed Tuesday afternoon after a collision with a dump truck in rural Rogers County.
A 2005 Freightliner dump trunk, driven by Pryor resident Dennis May, was northbound on NS4230, according to the report of Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Scott Shropshire.
At the same time, a 2012 Ford Fusion, driven by 38-year-old Kerry Fort of Tulsa, was westbound on US412, but the dump truck failed to yield to a yield sign and struck Fort’s vehicle, striking it, reports indicate.
May, 57, was not injured but Fort died at the scene from massive injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision, according to the trooper.
Trooper Shropshire is out of Troop B, Rogers County Detachment of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
