Verdigris school patrons approve bond issues

Verdigris school patrons approved Tuesday two bond issues totalling $7.9 million.
The bonds will provide funding for capital improvements and transportation.
Proposition 1 was approved by a 417-to-49 margin and Proposition 2 won by 423-to-48 votes.
The bond will not increase taxes, according to Superintendant Mike Payne as other bonds are set to expire and the new issue will simply replace them.
The bond issue will consist of three multi-series bonds spread over five years.
The building bonds is for $7,735,000 and a transportation bond for $200,000.
