Lightning caused a house to burn early Monday morning in the northern area of Owasso. Limestone firefighters responded to the fire around 5 a.m. on Knightsbridge Road near Dover Pond, according to information from Limestone Fire Department.
Limestone Fire Chief Carl Smith said the fire spread quickly across the cedar shingle roof and through the home. No injuries were reported.
Due to low water pressure caused by development in the Dover Pond/Stone Canyon area, Limestone firefighters had to request a tanker from the Owasso Fire Department.
The Tulsa Red Cross assisted by providing canteen services to Limestone and Owasso Fire Department, he said.
With high water usage during the summer and in such an expanding area, Rural Water District No. 3 is having to upgrade their system to accommodate. RWD3 personnel are asking residents to conserve water during this time.
