A Claremore girl was admitted in critical condition to a Tulsa hospital over the weekend, after falling asleep at the wheel on a Rogers County road.
According to the report of OHP Trooper Russell Stripling, 21-year-old Brittney Nicole Sephus was driving her 2001 Honda eastbound on SH20 on Saturday morning.
Shortly before 4 a.m., she fell asleep driving, and departed the roadway to the right, striking a culvert and continuing on before she struck a tree, reports indicate.
Following the collision, Sephus was pinned for 20 minutes before she was extricated by the Limestone Fire District using the jaws of life, and transported to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where she was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk, arm, leg, and internal injuries.
According to the report, Sephus was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
