New playground equipment will soon be installed at Will Rogers Park just in time for spring time weather.
The Claremore City Council approved the purchase of a modular unit —in the amount of $32,751 — from Miracle Recreation Equipment Company.
Funding comes from the capital improvements fund in the amount of $25,000 and a $15,000 grant from Kaboom/Dr. Pepper Snapple, according to Parks and Recreation Department Director Joe Kays.
Six proposals from two companies were received. All six were reviewed and scored by the Will Rogers Park Committee.
“This modular unit will be in addition to the existing playground unit and a step in the multiple phases of the overall project,” Kays said. “This unit will be a multiple play structure designed for a diverse group of ages from 5-12. This structure will not only be designed for this age group but should have components for the younger age group.”
Kays expects installation to be completed by April 30.
