CLAREMORE — The Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF) hosted the annual Teachers Appreciation Breakfast at Claremore High School. More than 385 new and returning teachers from the district attended the breakfast, sponsored by CPSF. Breakfast was provided by the Pink House.

Representatives from Claremore Chamber of Commerce, Immediate Care of Claremore and Office Everything attended the event and provided teachers with welcoming gifts. RCB Bank and BancFirst held drawings for more than $1,000 in gift cards for teachers in attendance.

In addition to the giveaways, RCB Bank Senior Vice President Matt Mason announced that the bank will be delivering a truckload of copier paper to each district school site.

CPSF President Misty Choat and CPSF Executive Director Marla Lillie, along with the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union, recognized District Teacher of the Year Rhonda Bart. Bart, who teaches sixth grade math and science, was announced Teacher of the Year in April. Claremore Superintendent Michael McClaren, school board members and teachers congratulated Bart on a job well done.

“The Teachers Appreciation Breakfast is a long-standing tradition in our community and it is a privilege to be among the first to welcome our teachers back for the upcoming school year,” said Lillie. “The businesses and individuals in our community support our local schools and demonstrate their support by participating so generously by sponsoring and attending the event each year.”
