CLAREMORE —

The Claremore Wildcats Special Olympic slow-pitch softball team left early Wednesday morning to compete in an annual Stillwater tournament. Approximately 30 players from teenagers to adults make up team A, B and C- Awesome, Brave and Courageous.

Coach Win Wendel said because of all of the rainouts this season, the players are anxious to get on the field.

Team C plays the first three innings, followed by team B and team A plays the final three.

In the past, the Wildcats have brought home several medals including a silver after placing second in the tournament finals.

“Im very proud of this team, win or lose,” said Wendel. “They play their hearts out every single game.”

The Claremore Wildcats will face the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office as a fundraiser event at 7 p.m. May 14 at Walnut Park.
