Owasso’s employment level will jump by 140 as the new Sam’s Club prepares to open its new store at 96th Street and 129th East Avenue.
Club manager Brad Yokely will be hiring cart pushers, meat cutters, cashiers, cake decorators, tire technicians, stockers and more, including a few office positions in accounting, auditing and compliance. Both full- and part-time positions are available.
“Offering this many jobs is a huge win for Sam’s Club and the Owasso community,” said Yokely, who comes to Owasso from Lawton, where he was the club manager. “We’re offering residents an opportunity to work within their own community.”
To facilitate the process, the club has opened a welcome center at 9455 N. Owasso Expressway.
“Sam’s Club is committed to becoming a partner in the communities where it locates, and that begins with providing good jobs with career opportunities for local residents,” according to a release by Sam’s.
That was the case for Yokely, who started with Sam’s Club in 1995 as a cart pusher in Joplin, Mo., while attending Missouri Southern State University. Starting in 2000, he has held management positions at clubs in Oklahoma, Texas and Utah.
“Sam’s Club has provided me the opportunity to take care of my family,” Yokely said. “I have had a lot of opportunities to develop and grow with this company.”
Yokely is excited to begin putting his staff together and start building their careers.
“The company takes care of its associates and provides endless opportunities,” he said. “I can’t wait to give others the same opportunities that have been given to me.”
