Docent nominated for the Home Instead Senior Care Salute to Senior Service contest

CLAREMORE —

Aviation, good horses and his Cherokee heritage were very special to Will Rogers. He would be proud that the oldest of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum’s fourth class of docents is a former pilot.
Jean McCreery, 90, was among the last of the WASPs, women who ferried military aircraft during World War II, under the direction of the United States Army Air Corps.
Jean learned about Will Rogers Memorial Ropers (docents) when she attended a Will Rogers & Wiley Post Fly-In. She immediately signed up for the next volunteer training class and for the past four years the mother of 10 has volunteered 25 hours per month.
Jean has been nominated for the Home Instead Senior Care Salute to Senior Service contest underway now. Votes for Jean can be cast once each day at http://www.salutetoseniorservice.com/volunteer-contest/entries/jean-m/
