A Claremore man has died after he lost control of his vehicle Sunday and ran off the road, striking a utility pole, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
David Nickerson, 62, of Claremore, was driving his 1968 Rambler Coupe at a high rate of speed on county road 4190 when he left the road, according to OHP Trooper Andy Floyd.
Nickerson was transported by Air-evac to St. John
Hospital in Tulsa where he was pronounced dead early Sunday morning, according to the trooper’s report.
The vehicle was not equipped with seatbelts or airbags.
