NORMAN — The National Weather Service says periods of heavy snow are possible Tuesday as a winter storm moves through the state.
A winter storm warning is in place until 8 p.m. Tuesday for much of western and central Oklahoma, generally an area west of a line from Altus to El Reno to Enid. The weather service says 4 to 6 inches of snow is possible with the storm. Some isolated areas could see 7 or more inches. Other areas of the state could see 1 to 3 inches of snow, including the area from Lawton to Oklahoma City to Bartlesville.
Forecasters say the storm system will move out of the state Tuesday night. The weather service predicts sunny weather with temperatures in the 40s on Wednesday.
