CLAREMORE — A Catoosa woman died Friday afternoon from injuries she received in a two-vehicle crash in Tulsa County.

According to the report of OHP Trooper Kyle Borden Baker, Shirley Green of Catoosa was eastbound on 106th Street North in her 1994 Nissan Altima at 1 p.m. Friday, July 19.

Baker, 58, then turned southbound onto Sheridan Road, but failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by a second vehicle — a 2007 Dodge Ram driven by Casey Taylor, 25, of Claremore — in the driver’s side door, reports indicate.

Baker was pinned in her vehicle for 34 minutes before she was freed by members of the Owasso Fire Department. She was then transported by Owasso EMS to Bailey Medical Center in Owasso, where she was pronounced dead at the hospital from massive trunk internal injuries.

Taylor was not injured.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the collision.

Trooper Kyle Borden Baker is with Troop B, Tulsa County Detachment of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
