CLAREMORE —

Does the City have its own emergency management director or does the County  emergency manager serve in that capacity?

The City of Claremore Emergency Management services are administered by Claremore
Fire Chief Sean Douglas.  However, in a major emergency I am sure the expertise and resources  would be shared between the City of Claremore and the Rogers County Emergency Management.  Remember Claremore is in Rogers County and therefore is also recipient of  some of the resources of the county emergency management.
Some of the Claremore specific responsibilities of Chief Douglas are not only coordination of City resources during an emergency but creating a hazardous mitigation plan and an emergency operation plan.  The Chief also is responsible for the maintenance and decisions concerning the storm sirens activation located within the City and the telephone notification system of impending emergencies.
These are just a few of Chief Douglas’ responsibilities as Claremore’s emergency manager.  Storm season is here and Chief Douglas stays busy but I am sure he would welcome any questions or comments concerning this matter.  You may contact him at 918-341-1325 Ext. 161.
See you around town!
