CLAREMORE —

A Rogers County couple were sent to a Tulsa hospital Tuesday evening, after their motorcycle collided with a pickup truck in heavy traffic.

According to the OHP’s report, 66-year-old Donald Hudson of Claremore was driving his 2005 Honda 3-wheeled motorcycle northbound on I-244 in Tulsa at 5:23 p.m. Tuesday.

With Hudson was Barbara Hudson, 67, also of Claremore.

Also traveling northbound on I-244 at the time was Skiatook resident, John Chapin, 56, in a 1990 GMC Pickup.

As Chapin slowed to avoid congested traffic, Hudson attempted unsuccessfully to slow to avoid him, striking the pickup in the rear and ejecting himself and his passenger from the motorcycle, according to OHP reports.

Following the collision, the Hudsons were transported by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital, where Donald was admitted in critical condition with head, trunk external, trunk internal, leg and arm injuries.

Barbara Hudson was admitted in stable condition with head, trunk external, trunk internal, leg and arm injuries.

Chapin was not injured.
