CLAREMORE —

The BNSF Railroad announced Wednesdat a delay in the temporary closing of Akin Road in Sequoyah.

Due to a delay in construction, the intersection will be closed beginning May 20 for approximately one week. The closure is step one in a three-week project to upgrade three crossings in the area.

Repairs to crossings at Reed Road and Briscoe Road will follow.

BNSF is upgrading the crossings as they add an additional line to the existing track.
