D1 to close portion of 4180 Road for bridge widening

A portion of 4180 Road will be closed beginning Monday for bridge repair. The section of the road, which crosses the south end of Claremore Lake, will remain closed through Monday, April 21, said District 1 Commissioner Dan DeLozier.
The original plan was to begin the project on April 7, however, plans were postponed for one week.
“The crane we were planning on using will not be available until next week,” said DeLozier. “We’ll rent the crane equipment from Bennett Steel of Sapulpa.”
He said there are many residents who travel the road to and from work, and the widening is needed to create a safer flow of traffic.
Detour signs will be placed on each side of the lake alongside South 4180 Road and East 470 Road.
