Claremore Public Schools Foundation (CPSF) will host the fifth annual Brainiac Brawl at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Rogers State University Centennial Center.
All funds raised will benefit CPSF. In the past four years, the foundation has raised more than $100,000 through the event, said CPSF Executive Director Marla Lillie.
The Brainiac Brawl includes 30 teams of eight competitors, all battling for the chance to walk home with the traveling Brainiac Brawl Champion trophy.
The “brawl” is comprised of six rounds, each including a different sponsor.
This year’s sponsors are BancFirst, Claremore Compounding Center, Grand Bank, Hillcrest Hospital Claremore, Pelco Structural, LLC, RCB Bank and Taylor, Burrage, Foster, Mallett, Downs, Ramsey & Russell.
Attendees also have an opportunity to compete in the table decorating contest where team members decorate tables in an inspired theme.
Teams receive ballots to vote for their favorite table decorations and the table with the most votes wins.
“Brainiac Brawl” champions in years past include: Taylor, Burrage, Foster, Mallett, Downs, Ramsey & Russell (2010, 2013), and RSU Hillcat BIzTeks (2011, 2012).
Table decoration champions include: Wilson Lillie & Assoc. Appraisal (2010-2013).
The event will offer a silent auction table featuring items valued at more than $14,000. Silent auction items include a full set of braces, passes to Disney World, a sailing excursion, Adrian Peterson-signed memorabilia, beer from around the world, Vera Bradley bags, Hammett House Pie-of-the-Month certificate, a round of golf at Patriot, a four-night getaway at a Keystone, Colo. condo and much more.
The mission of the Claremore Public Schools Foundation is to enrich the quality of education in the Claremore Public School district.
The foundation distributes grants to individual teachers and school sites, while providing special programs that create community awareness for the district.
CPSF depends on the contributions of individuals and corporate donors to fund these programs.
