CLAREMORE —

The new Will Rogers Splash Pad will open at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Claremore Parks and Recreation Department, city officials, council members and staff will be present with members of the park renewal project to celebrate the “soft” opening of the new addition to the city park system.
The city plans to host a grand opening for the project next spring when the project is complete.
Some smaller items have not been finished, however the water playground is completely functional, according to city officials.
Claremore Parks and Recreation Director Joe Kays said, “We want to get the park open and let the children enjoy it for the remaining hot days of this summer.”
The park will have an actuator, to turn the water features on, Kays said.
The hours of operation will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.,  7 days a week, is projected to close on Oct. 5.
“We look forward to seeing you there as we add another amenity to our park system,” Kays said.
The project is just one of many renovations to be completed in the park. Several community members have joined together to add a large playground structure, a memorial and a garden to the park.
The Rogers County Master Gardeners and Crystal Campbell, project organizer, are working with city officials to finalize the master plan for the park.
Campbell is also leading fundraising efforts with the participation of many local business owners.
