Executive session followed by light agenda
Rogers County Commissioners met Monday in executive session with their attorney for approximately one hour to discuss the employment of Emergency Management Director Scotty Stokes.
Commissioner Dan DeLozier announced there would not be any official action taken.
No other public discussion concerning the executive session was conducted after the board returned to the open meeting.
This is one of several executive sessions the commissioners have had regarding Stokes’ employment; however, no details have been released on any of the sessions to date.
The meetings have occurred over the past few months.
In other business, E911 Director Janet Hamilton announced the 911 Trust Authority will meet Thursday in the courthouse following the Rogers County Criminal Trust Authority meeting.
They will discuss issues and the continued effort to consolidate area agencies into the center.
To conclude the meeting, the election board requested the commissioners allow for reserved parking during their training sessions.
“Our parking is very hard to find,” said DeLozier.
DeLozier and commissioner Kirt Thacker voted to allow temporary reserved parking for the training days in the next few weeks.
The county’s new parking lot will be completed in a couple of months. In the meantime visitors are asked to use the overflow parking lot located south of the courthouse.
Commissioner Mike Helm was not present for the vote due to a funeral.
