The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for Norheast Oklahoma beginning Thursday morning through Friday evening.
A combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain is possible. Precipitation is forecasted to begin Thursday morning.
Wintry precipitation will develop over Eastern Oklahoma with a several hour break Thursday afternoon and early evening, according to the warning. Another round of moderate to heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain will possibily occur Thursday night and Friday morning.
The warning forecasts locations in East Central Oklahoma and Northwest Arkansas will see mostly freezing rain before transitioning into sleet on Friday.
A winter storm warning means significant winter weather is expected or is occurring. Gusty winds are also possible.
