A Chelsea man was arrested Monday evening following a meth bust under a bridge located at the 1600 block of S. Muskogee Ave., north of Country Club Road.
Claremore Police responded to a complaint from a nearby neighbor who said three adults had walked up from underneath the bridge. Officers arrived on scene and identified one of the three men as 43-year-old Troy Most of Chelsea.
According to a probable cause affidavit, when police arrived on scene, Most was inside a tent set up on the bank of the creek under the bridge. Discovered in Most’s backpack was an operational one pot meth lab. Most told police that the backpack was his and that he was traveling through Claremore from Tulsa and had been living in the tent at the location for a couple of days. In the bag was a plastic bottle, half full with a clear liquid and black material at the bottom. The bottle was capped and under pressure, according to the affidavit. In a seperate pocket, arresting officer Shaun Holmes found cold packs that had been cut open, as well as, a drano container and a coil of clear plastic tubing.
Claremore Police Chief Stan Brown said Most and the other suspects were not cooking meth at the time; however, the materials found at the site were being used to manufacture the substance. The lab was capable of manufacturing about one to two grams of methamphetamine.
Officers arrested Most before neutralizing the site.
Most later told investigators that he had researched manufacturing of methamphetamine on the internet and that he had last used meth several days ago.  Police are still searching for the other two suspects, said Brown.
He said the one pot meth labs are not uncommon, and are discovered just as frequently as indoor meth labs.
Most was charged on three counts, including a previous Tulsa warrant (app to revoke) larceny of merchandise, a Claremore municipal warrant for public intoxication and manufacturing controlled dangerous substance. His bond has been set at $38,162.
