19-year-old arrested for cultivation of marijuana

CLAREMORE — Rogers County Sheriff Deputies responded to a verbal dispute Monday around 11:30 p.m. in Claremore.

Upon arriving at the scene, Deputy Jerry Smittle was informed that the argument was over Michael Mathews growing marijuana in his family’s barn and along the wooded area surrounding the barn.
Deputies were given verbal consent to search the property and found several firearms, drug paraphernalia, starter kits commonly used to grow marijuana and three 5-gallon buckets with marijuana plants, according to the report.
After a sweep of the residence,   Mathews was placed under arrest and transported to the Rogers County Jail without incident.
