CLAREMORE — Claremore Police have confirmed the identity of a body found in a field near Highway 66 last Sunday.

The body has been identified as 36-year-old Orval Kenneth White III of Claremore. White was found dead just before 8 a.m. in an open area east of the car wash near Reavis Road and Highway 66, said Investigator John Singer.

Singer said a medical examiner has been notified and is in the process of determining the cause of death.

“At this point there seems to be nothing suspicious about his cause of death,” said Singer. “There is sufficient evidence to believe that White overdosed after inhaling a harmful substance. From what we heard, he had a problem with abusing inhalants.”

Singer said White was homeless at the time of his death.

Records state White was never arrested in Claremore for “huffing,” however, Claremore Police had encountered him at a scene where arrests were made.

Family members of White have been notified of his death.  The official cause should be released within the next two weeks, Singer said.
