Deputies return lost dog

CLAREMORE — While patroling near an intersection west of Chelsea, Rogers County Sheriff Deputies Scott Phillips and Joe Batt came across a female Chihuahua standing in the middle of the road.

“Obviously, she belonged to someone and seemed to be lost,” said Batt. “She seemed real skittish, so we had to try and feed her to get her attention before she was accidentally ran over.”
The two loaded the canine in the patrol car before driving to the first house they saw, which happened to be where the dog’s owner lived.
“Luckily we made contact and were able to return her,” he said. “The owner was surprised. She had no idea that the dog had left the house and was pleased that she was found unharmed.”
