Former Claremore standout tabbed SAC All-Conference

CLAREMORE — Jenny Hardin, a senior post from Claremore, became the first Rogers State women’s basketball player to be named first-team All-Sooner Athletic Conference.

Hardin averaged 13.6 points and 5.5 rebounds in leading the Hillcats to a fourth place finish in the SAC and their first 20-win season in 2009-10.

Senior Yoda Woods and junior Hunter Peterson picked up honorable mention all-conference accolades while Hardin and Autumn Thompson earn academic all-conference recognition.

Oklahoma Baptist and Oklahoma City finished tied for the SAC regular-season title with no league losses to anyone but each other. The All-Sooner Athletic Conference team reflects that with the teams dominating the awards.

OBU senior guard Taujhnae Travis is the SAC Player of the Year after finishing second in the SAC in scoring at 16.6 points per game and fourth in steals at 2.1.

“Champions don’t talk, they just perform.”
The Claremore High School freshmen Zebras brought home the Metro Lakes title last Monday night at Bishop Kelley, thanks to the “Heisman-like” performance of all-purpose standout Dustin Basks.
Basks scored Claremore’s first 20 points on a pass play, a kickoff return and an interception return — all in the first half.
Looking like former Michigan Wolverine sensation Charles Woodson, Basks proved to be ‘unstoppable’ while leading the Zebras to a 33-13 victory over the previously unbeaten Comets.
