Claremore Elks Lodge will be hosting its annual toy run to benefit local children in need this November.
Slated for Sunday, Nov. 5, line up for the 18th annual Raymond Duran Memorial Toy Run will be at 10 a.m. in the Reasor’s parking lot in Catoosa.
Kickstands go up and riders depart at 11 a.m., heading north on SH66, with plans to circle the Veterans Center and meet at the Elks Lodge in Claremore.
“This will be our first year to do the toy run without (toy run founder) Raymond (Duran), so this will be a very special year for us — we’re hoping for a good turnout,” said Christy Wylie, rider/event co-coordinator.
In years past, roughly 300 riders have participated in the event, Wylie estimated, with hopes to duplicate if not exceed that figure for this year’s toy run.
“People who want to donate may do so at the Elks Lodge in Claremore — we expect the riders to get there around 11:30 or a bit thereafter,” she said. “Any donation of unwrapped toy is very much appreciated and will help go to make a local child’s Christmas a little bit brighter.”
Chili, refreshments, and karoake will be available at the ride's end.
Claremore Elks Lodge #1230 is located at 1820 Summit Drive in Claremore.
