The Rogers County Board of County Commissioners voted Monday during its regular board meeting to “expire” the countywide burn ban due to recent and expected precipitation.
Rogers County Emergency Management director Scotty Stokes told commissioners that fire chiefs throughout the county were in favor not to extend the current burn ban but to let the existing burn ban expire.
The burn ban was in effect since March 3 due to high fire danger potential.
More rain is expected in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service, Claremore and Rogers County could see more rain beginning Tuesday night, with showers likely Wednesday into Thursday.
