CLAREMORE — July’s Food Truck Thursday is bringing the carnival to Claremore this month with a “Downtown Carnival.”
Scheduled for Thursday, July 27, “Downtown Carnival” will turn downtown Claremore into a fun, carnival-like atmosphere, with live entertainment, food trucks, late night shopping, games, and more.
“Right now, we’ve got 18 food trucks lined up for Downtown Carnival,” said Jessica Jackson, executive director, Claremore Main Street. “We will also have a Plinko game for $1 that gives players a prize every time, including a chance to win some great gift cards.
“We’ll also be hosting a ‘Pie’ Your Pastor fundraiser, and we’re currently working on a list of the participating churches now, but people will be able to ‘vote’ with their money for a pastor to be pied and the church with the most donated will get to see their pastor get a pie in the face,” she said. “Eleven churches will receive 10 percent of the money collected for their church.”
Food trucks confirmed for the July Food Truck Thursday include: Alha Grill Food Truck, BackWatters BBQ, The Bacon Food Truck, Breenie’Z Soft Pretzels, Curbside Comfort, C&J Concessions, Dorothy’s Wiches, Hoops Philly Truck, Kona Ice, La Hermosa Taco Truck, Maw & Paw Kettle Corn, MooChewSooey BBQ, My Baby Can Cook, Pie in the Sky, Pot Lickers, Ropin Flamingo Italian Ice, Taqueria El Jarocho, and Wild Al’s.
Returning this month will be the Kids Zone, hosted by Cedar Point Church of Claremore, which will this month be moving to the 500 Block (at Will Rogers and Missouri).
Food Truck Thursday is a seasonal, monthly food truck and shopping event in downtown Claremore from 6-9 p.m. the last Thursday of the month through October.
“It’s going to be another great night of fun and shopping for everyone,” Jackson said, “and the Claremore Farmers Market will have a few vendors selling fresh fruits and veggies, so people can even come out and get their produce that evening.”
