Claremore Industrial and Economic Development Authority (CIEDA) officials have announced John Feary of Owasso as their new executive director.
Feary will assume the role beginning Feb. 13 as former Director Jeri Koehler takes on a new position as Claremore’s deputy city manager.
Serving most recently at the City of Owasso, Feary brings 17 years of experience in public and governmental relations.
He has also provided oversight and management for infrastructure capital projects as well as acted on behalf of the Owasso City Council and city manager in matters pertaining to local, state and federal legislative issues.
“We are pleased to welcome John to this new post,” said CIEDA Chairman Dr. Keith Ballard.
Ballard added that CIEDA is confident Feary’s leadership and relationships throughout the region and state will enhance growth and transformation efforts.
“John is no stranger to northeast Oklahoma and is recognized as a top talent,” Ballard noted.
The transition in leadership will usher in an aggressive focus on industrial development and the necessary infrastructure considerations to enhance the community’s ability to attract new businesses, according to officials.
“I’ve had a close eye on Claremore over the past several years,” said Feary. “The community has tremendous leadership and is respected throughout the Tulsa metro.
“I look forward to bringing my experience to the table as we work to reach the city’s goals for economic development.”
