Claremore voters should mark your calendars for Tuesday, March 28, as the Claremore Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a City Council Candidate Forum.
The inaugural event will be in the Claremore Community Center, with scheduled participants to feature:
• City Council Ward 2 candidates: Don Purkey, Justin Michael and Mickey Keely
• City Council Ward 3 candidates: Ken Hays and Shelly Taylor
• City Council Ward 4 candidates: Will DeMier, Bryan McDonald and Frank Church
“The (Claremore) Chamber is pleased to continue presenting our Candidate Forum Series as a voter education/information event,” said Clarice Doyle, chair of the Chamber’s Legislative and Public Policy Committee. “This is an important service the Chamber provides business members as well as the entire community, and it is an opportunity for candidates to share their views with the voting public.”
Chamber CEO Dell Davis concurs.
“We believe that informed voters do and can make a difference,” Davis said.
This forum is presented by Claremore Area Chamber in cooperation with media partner The Claremore Daily Progress. Dr. Jeff Gentry, RSU professor and department head, communication, is the forum moderator. The forum is not an endorsement of individual candidates, their views or any political party affiliation, and is provided for voter information and education purposes only.
The City Council Candiate Forum will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Claremore Community Center, 2301 N. Sioux Street in Claremore. Attendees are asked to be seated no later than 6:15 p.m.
