Last week, Claremore Police was dispatched to 2300 block of North Jay Avenue for an unconscious male subject.
Officers say they arrived and found the male "unconscious with labored breathing."
An officer administered one dose of Narcan and within seconds the male regained consciousness, according to CPD.
"Officers discovered evidence of intravenous drug use and the male admitted to recently injecting heroin. The male was transported to a local hospital for further treatment," CPD reported.
CPD's Deputy Chief Steve Cox said, "This was the first time Narcan has been used by Claremore Police. Claremore Police are pleased to announce the Narcan used was made possible because of collaborative partnerships with the Cherokee Nation and the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health."
