Exploitation of disabled adult ends in felony charges

Attempting to obtain a payday loan under false pretenses led to the arrest of a Bixby woman.

Tasheona Kelly was arrested by Claremore Police Department after they were alerted to the situation by Approved Cash Advance.

Police reports show officers were called in reference to Kelly attempting to get a payday loan.

On scene, "officers learned that Kelly persuaded a mentally handicapped and vulnerable adult to apply for the payday loan in their own name and told the victim they would receive $100 cash in exchange for doing so, according to police records.

Records also show that officers learned that Kelly "prepared fake documents in the vulnerable adult's name to facilitate the requirements of the loan, which was in the amount of $500.

Kelly was arrested and is facing charges of obtaining money by fraud and exploitation of an elderly or disabled adult.
