For Christmas cards, sooner is better, Claremore postmaster says

Claremore resident Terri Eberhard peruses the Christmas card selection at Walgreens in anticipation of the upcoming season for sending cards. When sending Christmas cards, whether locally, nationally or overseas, “sooner is better,” according to Claremore Postmaster Jesse Sixkiller.

When it comes to sending Christmas cards in the mail, Claremore Postmaster Jesse Sixkiller advised getting an early start — the sooner, the better, in fact.

“This is the time of the year, when we see a massive influx of packages, letters, cards, etc., and with the extra volume of parcels and letters we’re handling, it’s a very good idea for people to get anything they’re going to be mailing in their mailbox or to us as soon as they can,” Sixkiller said. “Christmas is a month away, but when it comes to making sure your cards or packages get where they’re going on time, it’s always better to get it to us or in the mail as soon as you can.”

Currently, the Claremore Post Office has several designs of holiday stamps, but Sixkiller — again — advised an early start so that there are plenty of them in stock to accompany your Christmas cards.

Claremore Post Office is located at 400 West 9th Street. Hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays.
