Editor’s note: The following is a submitted campaign announcement.
I am a first time candidate for Claremore City Councilman. Claremore is a good place to live and work. I would like to be part of the team that helps the city continue to be even better. I don’t come with a pre-determined agenda. I believe in fact gathering and making informed decisions. I have a concern for all members of our community.
With the exception of a four year period of working in Tulsa, I have lived and worked in Claremore since 1992. I was recruited by Claremore Regional Hospital (now Hillcrest Claremore) and worked as Controller for 15 years, went to work for a Tulsa oil and gas company, and then semi-retired to work seasonally preparing tax returns. I am a graduate of Leadership Claremore, class of 2002, a past board member and treasurer of Rogers County Literacy Council from 2006 through 2013, an active member and current treasurer of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and volunteer at the VA Center Claremore.
I hold a bachelor’s degree majoring in Economics and accounting from the University of South Africa, and Accounting and Information Systems, from University of Texas Permian Basin; a CPA, registered in Texas; and married with five grandchildren.
