The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue K-9 Unit recently demonstrated to Justus-Tiawah
students how the SAR canines are given a scent to track in the event of a missing person alert. “Josie”, a bloodhound, was given the scent of a student’s shoe. Various people were placed throughout the
gymnasium while Josie began
tracking the student. Students and staff then watched as the canine tracked the owner of the shoe within five minutes.
