HAY CAPITOL – Inola has hosted Hay Days every year since 1960, and each year has seen larger crowds and more fun events. This year should be no different.
Celebrations kick of Friday, June 22, with bounce houses, a talent show, cutest pet and baby contests and live performances by local bands Houston and Myles Schwitzer. There were also be 31 craft vendors and nine food trucks parked on the street to stop at and enjoy.
Saturday is packed with activities. There will be a frog jump, a turtle race, sack races, a petting zoo, face painting, a ring toss, football throw, a dunk tank, horse shoes and a rummage sale.
All of that will be followed up by a parade, moderated by News On 6 Anchor Justin Shrair and a street dance to the live performances of the local River Road and Trett Charles bands.
The Inola Hay Day President Hanna Battenfield said she hopes people turn out because “It’s good, wholesome fun for all ages. It’s just a good time.”
