It was one man’s attempt to run another over with a Chevrolet Impala that drew the attention of Claremore Police Department.

This is according to the affidavit filed by CPD Officer Matt Rice, who said he was dispatched to the Willow Drive residence on Saturday on report of one man attempting to run the other over.

On scene he made contact with two individuals—one of whom was Michael Ridge who was later arrested.

The other male reportedly told the officer that ”Ridge came over to the residence asking for money.”

During the exchange of money Ridge stated that [the man] had reached into the car and had open-handed slapped him in the face. [The man] stated that Ridge had pulled a black club from inside the vehicle. And that [the man] then pulled a knife from his pocket,” according to CPD records.

The man is quoted in telling law enforcement that at that point Ridge got back in the car and attempted to run him over.

According to Rice’s report, multiple witnesses say they saw Ridge driving the vehicle in the man’s direction.

Ridge was arrested on a felony count of domestic assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
