There’s chocolate, there’s art, and then there’s “chocolate art.”

Yes, that’s right. Chocolate art.

All artists and gourmandes are invited to submit a work of chocolate art for the 11th Annual Chocolate Affair, benefiting the Rogers County United Way, on Thursday, Oct. 19 from 7-9 p.m.

There are few rules — not surprising with a medium as decadent as chocolate. Any artwork is welcome so long as it somehow incorporates chocolate. Chocolate sculptures, chocolate paintings, chocolate centerpieces — they are all welcome. And anyone — from small children to the elderly, may submit chocolate masterpieces.

Anyone attending the Chocolate Affair will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite work of art and ribbons will be awarded to the top ten winners.

Chocolate Affair organizers Mendy Stone and Gloria Hewling have asked that chocolate art items be dropped off at the Claremore Community Center, 2301 N. Sioux, between 2 and 5 p.m. on the 19th. The art will be displayed during the event and may be taken home afterwards.
