Certified Public Accountant Kevin Fortna’s days may be busy helping other people with their taxes these days, but only a few months ago, he was taxing himself with getting his current office space ready for clients.

Fortna’s office, located at 510 W. Will Rogers Boulevard in Claremore, is the former site of Wolf Productions: A Gallery of the Arts, a longtime staple of downtown Claremore.

But to visit Fortna’s offices now, you’d see few reminders of its previous use as an art gallery.

“We bought the building back in April (2017), and almost immediately, started renovations,” Fortna said, “Inside, things were basically good, but there was some damage to the front and rear exterior — there was some wood rot and a bit of termite damage, which had to be taken care of, but other than that, the building was in good condition.”

After purchasing the location, Fortna’s team removed some of the wood which covered the interior walls, exposing the brick, leaving some, but putting down some wainscoting to cover others, and they went about building up the inside space.

“We separated the interior — which was basically one large space before — into smaller work areas, adding the petitions, the walls and the glass, added some lighting and modernized it a bit to serve our needs,” he said.

Fortna, who did all of the design work and much of the wood work himself, said he was “very satisfied” with the finished look of the office.

“We’re very pleased with how the look and functionality of the space turned out,” he said. “It’s a great location, and it feels good to have kept this space going as part of historic downtown Claremore.”
