Victim says

suspect showed gun, demanded money

Claremore Police are still investigating the report of an armed robbery in the parking lot of Carl’s Jr. early Monday.

At 9:56 a.m. Monday morning, Claremore Police received a 911 call, reporting an armed robbery in the parking lot of Carl’s Jr. in Claremore.

Several officers, including CPD investigator Chuck Goad, responded to the call.

“According to the victim, a female employee of Carl’s Jr., she had left the restaurant and gotten into her car, placing her purse on the passenger’s seat,” Goad said. “She said that two suspects then pulled alongside her car to where the passenger doors were facing each other.

“The suspect on the passenger’s side of the other vehicle then got out and opened the victim’s passenger door, brandishing what appeared to be a handgun, demanding the victim’s money,” Goad said. “She said she glanced down to her purse, and the suspect then grabbed it and fled in the vehicle with the other suspect driving.”

Goad said although the victim could not make out the driver of the other vehicle, she described the suspect that allegedly took her money as a being a white male with a thin build, 5’8, wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

She was unable to tell police which direction the car was headed, but described it as a “bluish-light silver” car of unknown make and model.

“At this point, there are many details of the case that are still under investigation,” Goad added.

Should anyone have information about the robbery, Goad encouraged them to contact the Claremore Police Department at 341-1212. They may remain anonymous.
